Lead Vocal and Rhythm Guitar
I am privileged to lead the band JJSTUPOTE. I started serving at SBFYC as a teenager in the role of "sound guy," and then ten or so years later I was asked to lead the worship team for SBFYC. Several years into leading at camp the group as it is today was formed. Now we have opportunities to lead God's people in worship at other venues, but SBFYC is the highlight of the year for me, and I have always experienced the sweetest times of worship and fellowship at camp.
My focus as the leader of JJSTUPOTE is to facilitate Christ exalting Spirit filled worship of God through the presentation of His Son Jesus Christ in song. I do this in hopes that young people will be moved to see Jesus for the first time as the only hope for salvation and fall to their knees in true repentance and faith, and it is one of the greatest joys of my life.
I started playing acoustic guitar at 8 years old, and began playing bass guitar in the SBFYC band in 2003. As members of the band came and went I made the transition to electric guitar in 2008. I have also led worship at MercyHill Church in Jenks, OK for the last several years. I am very grateful for the opportunity to lead the campers at SBFYC before the throne of God every summer.
I grew up in a family who has a passion for music, and it has always been a big part of my life. I have also attended SBFYC every summer since I was born, and have always loved the worship there. I was extremely blessed when given the opportunity to join with JJ Stupote in leading worship in 2012. My passion for music grows each and every year, and I cannot wait to see how God moves in the lives of all the campers this summer.
I am 24 years old and I've been blessed to be a part of one of the best praise and worship bands around. I've been playing the drums for 13 years and just recently took up the bass. I thank God for letting me be a part of JJSTUPOTE and allowing me to lead people in worship of the true and living God.
I am a professional musician in the D.C area. Recently relocating from Oklahoma, I’m now currently pursuing a career in music. The viola is my main instrument, but I also play piano, guitar, and sing. I have had the wonderful opportunity to perform with and be mentored by the world famous Bob Israel. This has proven successful in giving me experience that has allowed me to perform in places like the Italian embassy and various places in the D.C area. I have also performed with my twin brother Caleb in a duo we call “Twins and Violins.” We have produced various music videos of popular songs for violin and viola. We have gained quite the following on Youtube, Facebook and Twitter as well. One of my dreams is the desire to start a Christian band and travel to places that have never had the opportunity to hear music and worship that we are blessed with. My sole purpose in playing music is to glorify God, point to Christ, and bless others who might be listening in the process.
